Pig shots
« on: October 15, 2021, 12:47:55 AM »

I was watching Matt Pittman meat church tailgate series, and just had to try these. Very tasty. I did them exactly like he did, only I used a frosting bag to fill them.

Have never tried these. Those do look pretty darn good. I may need to go look for what is in them.

It’s just sausage of your choice. Cut into about a1/3 inch, circles. Regular bacon cut in half. Wrap bacon around the sausage and toothpick it to form a small “shot”. The use one cream cheese, 1/4 cup of cheddar 1 tsp of chili powder, 2 tbsp of honey hog, 1 small can of green chilis diced. For mix. Squeeze mixture into “shot” cups.

Great timing and great pictures. I was just looking at a different recipe for these the other day. I like the cream cheese and cheese mixture this recipe offers. I am planning on making them as part of an assortment of snacks for a strategic planning session we are doing in a couple of weeks. Long meetings need good snacks!!

I made these for the first time the other day and it will not be the last. I thought they were great and so did the others (even the ones who tend to opt for healthy choices).

I did put the bacon in the oven to "tighten up" before making the cups.  That seemed to really help. I also found it easier to use a full strip of bacon and two toothpicks per cup.

Thanks for sharing the recipe.
