Time for Pulled Pork
« on: March 06, 2022, 02:08:31 PM »

I used the last of my pulled pork for Tamale Pie. Time for another batch. These are two 6+ lb. bone-in butts that were on sale for $1.29/lb. Trimmed, injected and seasoned last night. Onto the DC shortly.

Good price!

Weather is finally warming up to start BBQing again.
I have a beef roast that I will be cooking Tuesday (I think) along with making some beef jerky.

I picked up 3 yesterday for 1.59/pound. did 2 of them over night and put one in a brine to turn in to a ham. Not sure if I will slice or shred it when it is done.
I did mine on my cookshack smokette.

I know Meijer, at least in central Ohio has pork butts for the old usual price of 99 cents a pound on sale right now. The sale started today and runs through Saturday. Not sure how many states have Meijer other then Michigan and Ohio though.

Parts of WI, IL, and IN have Meijer stores.

Almost done. ended up with 6 lb. + one 7 oz. sandwich for lunch. Each of 3 bags contained 2 lbs. each. Oranges in the background are the last of this year's harvest. Will squeeze, bottle and freeze this afternoon.

Looks great, did about 20 pound of butts yesterday, packed up eight 1 pound packs and made some bbq sauce for some folks up the road that helped me out with a problem I had a couple weeks ago.

Still had enough to nachos and probably several quesadillas.
