No pellet grill involved
« on: September 22, 2024, 09:45:56 AM »

Got some Grandbaby visits today, a little (LOT) of yard work and then, well I dont know yet?
Bless Gwennies ❤️ she made me (as she always does) my Sunday omellete.
Today was sausage, Boars head onion garlic and sharp cheddar, tater nuggets air fried. The tater nuggets dern near ruined it! Yuck. Anybody ever eat old frozen stuff? Especially potatoes? Anyhow we ate our way around them and it was deelish.
Happy Sunday!

Is that cheese on the outside of the omelet?

Yes it’s Boars head “onion garlic”, it’s a processed cheese but we LOVE it. It does not slice very well, in fact it doesn’t unless you like it roof shingle thick but boy howdy it is good.
We looked for Provel but they didn’t have any. Man it’s yummy too.
The top cheese didn’t quite melt this time. :help:

I bet they are a handful, but granpa probably thinks it is worth it!

Provel, never heard of it.  I thought you were just shorting provolone!  Wonder if it is at all similar to White American?  Like the slices I buy at RD.  Like this stuff?

Not sure BUT Lew has just shouted Bingo.
There was a place in Scottsdale Ariz called Fraziers Steakhouse, not sure if they are still there.
They had phenomenal steaks but Gwennie is not a fan so the owner said try our pizza……darn it was outstanding. Went back a lot of times and we always ordered pizza. I have found it here (provel) but 99% of people are “what”.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Provel_cheese

It melts similar to American cheese but has a stronger taste which I am guessing is from the provolone.

I think I get it now.  It is a combination of those 3 cheese's and melting salts to turn it into a processed cheese.  Never seen it!
