Been there, done that. Best part was lock passage and Porto Rico side trips, which included zip line and river rafting.

Looks like a fun trip. Especially with a fishing rod.

Does that cruise have the shot gun shooting off the top deck? I think that would be fun.

This was in Cartagena, Columbia, I think some would have found this view from Kristin's balcony quite ugly. I was fascinated watching them load this massive LNG container ship, and then the small one next to us!

More interesting to me then most of the ports, a tour of the 5th floor Galley.  Unfortunately way to short & unguided tour.  I could have spent hours in there.  As a former dish washer 47 years ago, I was fascinated by the length of theirs!  Only for dinnerware/crockery, the glasses & flatware were done in the more traditional (and what I used) raise the lid type washer!  I would have loved to see this working!  The cold prep area.  The finishing line (with photos of what the finished plate should look like) and a few other areas I am really not sure what they are.  There are 3 galleys like this on the ship!

I find stuff like that fascinating.  My dad served on an aircraft carrier in the Pacific during WWII and we have the U.S.S. Lexington in Corpus Christi as a museum.  I made the mistake of trying to tour it with the family.  I could have spent days there looking at it but the family wasn't interested much so we didn't stay long.

Where do they get the water to make the ice?  Is there something on the ship that takes in the ocean water and removes the salt?

Also, does the ship have its own waste water treatment plant?

They have a desalination system and I seem to remember that the waste water is processed somehow to where it is clean.
