Making Caraway Rye dough.
« on: March 16, 2025, 02:28:30 PM »

Have a couple of friends coming over for Lunch Monday.  We had been talking Patty melts.  I was under the impression it was just a cheeseburger on 2 pieces of toast.  Which is why it never really appealed to me, I like a nice soft hamburger bun.  Well little did I know it is Rye Bread, Swiss Cheese, Grilled Onions and Russian/1000 Island dressing!

So I tried it, still not for me.  I did decide that a Caraway Rye Hamburger roll would be better then an elongated piece of bread!

Not sure I ever had them with Russian dressing. I usually sub something else for the swiss, not a fan of the taste. Never made rye bread either, usually used either store bakery or I think it is Scwabels in the clear wrapper with the green print. I need to use different bread for the GF she didn't like the rye for some reason.

I may need to make them again, had chopped cheese tonight.
