i don't have twitter and I found it.

I see that, too.  I don't find it when I use my desktop or laptop without logging in.

Marcia's never been to twitter.com, so I used her laptop to go there, searched on PelletFan and found it.  Maybe her laptop never having been used to login to the Twitter site is significant.

So, Bentley, PF members that can't get onto PF and want to see your alert message appear to fall into three categories–

     Twitter non-members—must remember to go to twitter.com and search on PelletFan to see it
     Twitter members that don't "follow" PelletFan—must remember to go to twitter.com and search on PelletFan to see it
     Twitter members that "follow" PelletFan—will receive an email that there's a pelletfan.com alert message

I was gonna pull a Woody with the VHS tape to help set up the VCR...and say this will all be good for for folks to see so they can check Twitter if there is and issue...Guess what Woody, folks wont be able to get on here, if there is an issue!

Bentley, How about you keeping a separated file of all the email addresses from pelletfan and then you can just send an email to everyone on the list with a single message?

I guess a person that was not lazy would do that.  But I did not think there would be 79 Members after 20 days either.  And if there are say 1200 in a year...not sure how realistic a 1200 person email is?  Members just need to know, if the site goes down, if you want to know updates of what is going on, you have to go to twitter and search for PelletFan...

I just went to Twitter, was not logged in, typed pelletfan in the search and the page came up with the all the current tweets...about the only way realistically I see keeping folks informed. Because I am not starting a Facebook page, and I know of no other way to do it!

True.  The advantage to being a Twitter member and "following" PelletFan is that you'll receive an email notice that PelletFan has "tweeted" something, most likely a comment about the site being down.  Otherwise, you'll have to remember what to do.

Once you get to the sight just bookmark it. That way when you open Pellet fan.com and it wont work just click the twitter bookmark and you are there.

We experienced a small glitch on our computers tonight and for about 5 minutes it looked like maybe the site had crashed.  Then everything was normal again at home so probably just some interference with our broadband provider.

BUT... it got me to thinking that we should remind folks that there is a back-up communication system in place should something unexpected happen, the twitter account that Bent set up for Pelletfan.  So, if we lose the site for some period be sure to check the twitter page and we will tell you all that we know of what is going on.
