Cloudy today, so not a good picture of the 2 soils. The near one is 50-50 pond clay soil mixed with the grape crush, and the other is just the pure mixed grape crush.  The pure crush is almost black.

How are you hauling it to your garden?

Just in the bucket of the tractor.  Or do you mean how did I get it from Old House Vineyards?

From where it came from to your house. Dump truck? Looks like a lot to me.

I used one of their wine grape bins.  It would hold about 4 bucket loads or about 1500lbs worth.  A dump trailer would have been the way to go.  If I knew now, what I knew in 2014, I would have spent the $5000 on one insted of the $1000 we spent on the utility trailer.

I do enjoy this thread!   5 yards of garden soil, I have to move to my 10K sq foot double city lot back yard one wheel barrel at a time!  I do back up to a 5 acre green space with a two acre park, so it actually looks much bigger than it is.

And don't worry too much about the lines being perfect, the soil will move them anyway.  They'll settle and adjust over the years, it's part of the fun.    On my end I put ... I don't know if they call it this anymore, but playground cedar chips down to keep out weeds between the raised beds.   Not worth it for your size of garden, but works for me.

Other than the last two days, we've had a historically dry and sunny November in the Pacific Northwest.  I built a new trellis yesterday for my peas and beans.

I'm trying a galvanized steel wire instead of changing the twine each year.  Need to go get some more this weekend to finish the project.
