It is a little known fact that Santa is a fan of good barbecue, so he is bringing me stuff for my older Traeger.  I am getting a lower shelf to improve the structural integrity of it.  There is only so much stuff one can pile on the hopper, so I am getting a front shelf.  He contacted Mike at pelletgrillaccessories.com about sending me a set of Pellet Savers to avoid the no-pellet vortex.  He is also setting me up with a Smoke thermometer, so I don’t eff up the food by over cooking it!

If Santa doesn’t bring this stuff, the A/P Department (aka the wife) has approved these purchases!

Santa already hit me with a Smoke, after many years of xxxxxx remote thermometers, including 2 Mavericks.  The BF weekend sale got me pulled in.  We'll see, but it sure seems better built and is far more intuitive to set up.

Santa’s bringing me $200 to put toward grilling gear.  What should I get?  One large purchase or multiple small items?

I know I need to step up my thermometer game.  Thinking about blowing it all on a tappeque or a Smoke with a Gateway.  But I could stay with the generic one I have and upgrade to a Thermopen and have leftover funds to use elsewhere.

I have an older Traeger Texas with a Pellet Pro controller.  I bought a Don Godke downdraft, but had to take it off.  It didn’t breathe well enough to get a clean burn.  I also have a smoke tube.  It would be nice to have the bottom and/or front shelf.  I need help prioritizing my wants.

What would you do?

Buy more and stock up on pellets, always gonna need them  :2cents:

I found a 36" Blackstone on clearance for $125. Of course it
has to be a Christmas present. It's been working overtime. This griddle is a breakfast making machine.

Santa came early!!!!  It is my new toy saw -- 10 inches.  I feel like I did when I used my Suzy Q oven to cook!!  It does look and feel like a toy, but cuts for real.  Not a lot of help to Bent in cutting things down, but I can get the little stuff and help with the skinning.

Is it cordless or a gas motor? See Greenworks and leaning towards battery?

Battery, so only 7.5 lbs.  That was one of the reasons to get it, so much more lightweight than a gas one.

I got an old falling saw years ago that has a 32inch bar. Then at work I won a toy for tots raffle and got an electric one that has 12 inch bar and it works great. Like you said lightweight but they work great for the small stuff. I used it at the kids house to fall some small trees (8inch butt) and it worked great.

Have fun and be safe.

KRISTIN ,It's cute! (The Saw). I'll bet it can do some serious cutting for its size.

Santa came to my place a couple weeks ago, brought me a Playseat Challenge , which has allowed me to really improve my Project Cars 2 lap times, and allow me to sit for hours without my butt getting sore. Since, I've been playing nearly every spare moment since then, Santa probably will bring me a lump of coal on Christmas day.

I've secretly written a letter to Santa, asking for a new PC with at least a i7700k processor and a GTX 1060 graphics card, along with all the other hardware to support it, so that I can play Project Cars 2 on a even better platform than my Playstation 4, which has some drawbacks that just can't really be overcome , short of moving to a pretty high quality PC setup...  I doubt that Santa is going to see fit to get me this gift though, but I can dream...  Maybe with the new Tax rates in the US, I might be able to save up and buy one for myself  over the coming months though.

I was informed yesterday that i would be receiving a delivery of perishable stuff.  It is currently sitting on my patio and i can not zoom the camera in close enough to see where it is from.  I have a sneaking suspicion that it is something that i will be cooking for the xmas dinner.  My mother is sneaky like that.

Ordered this last night. It will be here after Xmas, but I'll call it a gift for myself. I've had a wusthof for probably 12 years plus that I've loved. Just figured I'd try something new. I've had this one in my hands at crate and barrel, and it felt great. Feel in the hand is one of the main factors for me.

You'll love that knife, FMT. If, by chance, you don't . . . I'd be happy to take that burden off your hands!
