I know this is off topic but I thought I would show this snow,  I am only 8 miles north of the Mexican boarder it only snows down here about every 100 years.

A buddy of mine from Jackson, MS sent me pics of snowfall there.  Looked like several inches.  He is in his mid 50s and said it will be the top 3 snowfalls that he has ever seen.  Jersey shore is supposed to get up to 6 inches tonight.  So far, nothing hear in Eastern PA and I am really OK with that.

We are suppose to get some snow in NC but very little where I am located. Even with the snow coming I put up the tent and onto the smoker tonight will be a brisket.

The last time in snowed enough for accumulation in the Rio Grande Valley was 2005.  We were down there visiting my brother for Christmas and about 2 inches fell on Christmas Eve morning (if I remember correctly).  We got an inch plus last night around 9 PM here south of San Antonio.  The girls had never seen snow before and had a grand time with it.  They're 13 and 14 years old, so that tells you how often it occurs.  Our daughter (the oldest) doesn't remember the snow from 2004.  She was 2.

Maybe 1-3"s here in central Indiana tomorrow morning, I would be more then ok if it decided to skip us.  Counting down the days till spring.

Nothing showing in the next 10 days except cold and smog. We get terrible inversions here in the winter.  Drive up the mountain and its sunny and warmer, but then you look back down and see the brown crud that you have been breathing.

4 years is not a long track record to judge cold.  It is about 38° here right now, but it feels like one of the coldest days I have ever seen here.  For those of you who have lived a long time in cold climates, if it is a lower RH % can it feel colder?

I personally think days with a higher RH% feel colder outside.  Just something about those cold damp days.

To me my body is just like a smokin  smoker.
It's the wind that's the ultimate killer.
And another major factor is staying DRY. If I get wet - LOOK OUT

+1 Its been 27 last few nights in Oregon and it is sunny and dry feels better then when it snows at 32.

Not to me...higher RH is the killer.  When I lived in Colorado when it was zero degrees it felt like it was in the 30s in other places I lived.

Humidity most definitely affects how you feel temperature wise.
The higher the humidity the warmer or hotter you feel.
Think Midwest region, middle of summer, hot and humid. Your body can't dissipate your sweat because the air is saturated. Makes the summer picnic long.
Think Arizona, "Dry heat", if the humidity rises (monsoonal season) folks think the world is coming to an end. Even though the temperature is basically the same sweltering heat it was before the monsoon. Lacking humidity the vast majority can easily deal with the temps when it is hot.
The primary reason for humidification in the cold months is for comfort, that is one of the reasons mechanical contractors always offer them, or should.
Less itchy skin, less dry noses, preservation of good wood etc. are added benefits.
