It is 22° here, 22°...no negative sign in front of the numbers. Light breeze. We had to go up to my uncles, probably 3-4 tenths of a mile. I had gloves on, now granted just a work gloves, but no direct exposer to the elements. I single this post out cuz it has numbers in it, it is aimed at all of you that live in those climates.
We were outside for maybe a total of 5 minutes, coming and going. My fingers were going numb, I do not mean they were getting cold, I was getting to the point where I could not use them...5 MINUTES.
The below statement for me is not comprehendible. It is so far from what I can understand it is like a science fiction movie...Captain, we are shooting the Laser Cannon at the Monster but it has no effect...It is to foreign a concept to understand.
I cant imagine what 50° lower would be like, it is as foreign a concept for me as trying to relate to the vastness of the Universe! I have experienced some of the biggest Eathquakes to hit the US in the last 50 years, I know that experience. I have often said I would like to experience a hurricane, and a tornado, I do not say that to make light of them, but just because they are such cataclysmic events! Once in my life I would like to experience weather like below...
What is even more perplexing is why you are still there after 1 winter...
When I was in my 30s I played on an adult amateur hockey team that practiced outdoors at about 7:00 at night, after we got off work. Some nights it would be 30 or 40 below zero (temperature, not wind chill). During scrimages, when a group of us sat on the bench there'd be a cloud of steam around us from the sweat. That experience is common in true hockey country.
