Thanks for all the ideas... I got a bit of a reprieve on this... originally the gathering was going to be for this coming Thrusday, but now it's been moved to the Monday after that... So, I'm thinking of maybe doing a bit of a dry run this weekend, where I might cook one pork shoulder and also try this one recipe I found for grilled pineapple salsa... I'm also considering maybe doing a pseudo Huli Huli chicken, or at least exploring that type of thing.
Since I'd likely be doing this in my PG500, Part of me is thinking that 'turning and turning' is probably not hugely critical to creating a decent chicken... But in all honesty, I'm just curious about the over all falvor combinations of what I've seen of Huli Huli chicken recipes.
probably not really very Hawaiian, but I"m thinking of doing the pork in a sort of pineapple and hot pepper sort of overnight marinade.
