I, like most, prefer to make my own chili.
Of course I add beans.
I don't recall ever making chili without beans.

In a bowl - with beans.
On a dog - no beans.

For those that make home made, give this a try. It's very good:

Trooper, it isn't chili, but you need to post that baked bean recipe you brought to a competition one time.  Was it your wife's recipe?

At first It looked expensive. But then I seen the quantity. That would make a lot of chili.

Sounds good. Thanks for posting.

I like chili. I like chili over beans, dogs and burgers. I like it in my taco salad. I like chili. And I grow and smoke my own chilis.  :D

And for those who have experienced Wienerschnitzel in the West, Der preceding that if you are over 50...Many will laugh at me...Best chili dog chili I have ever had...a brown glop that I loved!

We used to have Der Weinerschnitzel near where I grew up in PA when I was in middle school.  I was so happy to see it when I move to Chula Vista, CA almost 20 years ago.  I loved the kraut dog.

I had a couple bites of a Weinerschnitzel, the rest went into landfill.  That was one of the most awful hot dog and chilli combs i have ever tasted.   :puke:
I have had hot dogs with chilli that I really enjoyed, but I don't know a good recipe for the chilli sauce.  Last time I tried I think it was too close to Texas.

I love all types of chili. As many have said earlier, if I am making chili I use beans in mine.

By the way... if you want authentic 'chili' sauce used on what some in my home town claim to be the original Coney Island... here's a recipe ( look , no beans )

Note: The recipe calls for ground beef heart.  Not my idea of chili meat.  Now ground Bison is another thing-it is wonderful in chili.  Much leaner so you don't have to dip off the fat.  :lick:

According to most Texans it's a sacrilege to put beans in chili. I'm not from Texas but Louisiana is close by and I make a mean bowl of chili that never has beans.  :lick:

I do black beans only in my chili.  Better texture to me.
