Need ideas for stuffed flank steak.
« on: February 02, 2018, 04:49:24 PM »

I'm going to smoke a stuffed flank steak for Super Bowl Sunday. I'm looking for ideas for stuffing ingredients. I've searched the interwebs for recipes but haven't seen anything that rings my chimes. I'm not a big fan of cream cheese and a lot of recipes call for that.

I'm hoping you guys with have some great recipes or ideas. Also should I marinade?

Do you sauté them first?

I would.  Maybe through in some shredded mexican cheddar cheese when you stuff.

Roasted red peppers, spinach, garlic, swiss.

Or

Roasted poblanos, cilantro, and pepper or Monterey Jack.

Peppers, onions, mushrooms, garlic

I would add garlic and wrap in a bacon weave.

I was thinking goat cheese and prosciutto. Or stay with the goat cheese and use a sweet like fig and honey.

Definitely wrap in bacon, especially since it's a vegetable.

A flank steak rollup I did recently.

Provolone & bacon

Other stuff

Rolled up & tied with kitchen twine.

Baked it on my Pro. The sauce it produced was out of this world.  Will definitely cook it again.

Never made it however if I did I would stuff it with Planko bread crumps, shrimp, diced cheese of your choice, bay seasoning and olive oil.

Thanks everyone. I'm going with ZCZ's recipe. I think I have pretty good knife skills but butterflying a flank steak is challenging to say the least. The meat is marinating now.

Full recipe here is if you would like: https://pelletfan.com/index.php?topic=1406.0

Let us know how it turns out and how you like the sauce it creates.
