I no longer live in a colder climate and no longer use a thermal jacket. I really like the idea of the window to see the food cooking. On the Copperhead 5 I have, the door is easily removed for cleaning. I can easily clean the glass in the door and then rinse with the garden hose and then repeat until clean enough, and then reinstall the door. I would not do that on a window that is fixed to the door that is not removable like I think the GMG has though. I like the glass in the door but I would like it less if I had to spill water inside the grill every time I wanted to clean the glass. The glass on the pellet hopper is something that I am more indifferent towards.

I remember when gas grills had windows. Useful for 1/2 your first cook and then you can’t see through them at all.
