Burgers might be one of the most under rated foods.  Of course that's only because there are probably a million ways to prepare one.

In Ann Arbor, Michigan, there's this place called Krazy Jim's Blimpy Burgers ,  only good way to describe them is greasy , with virtually anything you might ever want on them ( Ok, that's a exaggeration)  they are made to order and cooked while you stand there. You can get anything from a Double (paddy) to a Quint(or more if you dare)     The original location was very near to the campus of the University of Michigan, and during busy times of the day,  if you didn't order correctly you'd pretty much get thrown out of the place, at the very least get chastised...

   Their motto/slogan  "Cheaper Than Food"

For a sense of what the Krazy Jim's experience is like...  you can see the place on a episode of Dinners Drivins and Dives.

The one my wife and I generally agree on and likely my favorite in the end is cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, red onion, and BBQ sauce. Maybe a touch of mayo or ranch on mine, but neither on hers.

Looks like Quebec has more salt, no crushed red pepper, and maybe no dill versus what is in Montreal steak seasoning from what I can gather in a five minute internet search on both.

i would agree, I just like the flavor it imparts to actually, steak or hamburgers. As say, compared to Fiesta, or montreal.

Now, I'm looking into sourdough bread for buns....maybe Einkorn. (Ancient type of wheat, without all the genetic alterations). We'll see how that works.

Big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer

Would you mind sharing what a ballpark price per pound for that is?

Lucky for us one of the local butcher shops makes that blend up.
Sorry for the delay in replying. Packaged as qty 5, 1/2# burgers, $5.99/#. Just had some last Sunday, cooked over lump charcoal, delicious. They also do a mix including prime rib at $8.99/# but we haven’t tried that.

It's funny.  Growing up my mom used to send me to the store for ground chuck.  That's all she used for burgers and they were great.  Most of the places we shop out here in California don't sell it but the Walmart grocery does.  I've used the ground beef and frozen patties Costco sells and the beef is just too lean.  A few years ago they had ground chuck frozen patties but I guess it didn't sell.  Folks are a little too health conscious out here.

Hmmm, not sure where you shop but every market I've ever been to here in CA sells it. It's not always labelled as chuck, but if it's between 15% and 20% fat, it probably is.

Started a summer project with my son-in-law and his two boys.  We will eat a burger every Thursday in a different burger joint in Tulsa and then grade the results, and compare until we can determine where to get the best burger. Today we started at one of the oldest family owned burger joints.  Should be fun.

I had this burger at the Eclipse Restaurant in the Moonrise Hotel on Delmar Ave in STL last night.  It was cooked a little more than I ordered, but very tasty.

Smoked Mushroom Burger $16
8 oz. grass fed beef patty. Baby green oak with lemon vinaigrette. Caramelized onion.
Smoked Gouda. Black garlic aioli. Smoked Ozark Forest mushrooms.
