Soon it will be very common to have a pellet grill.

Ya know, I thought the same thing, and then my mind went astray.  A co-worker asked me last week about a pellet grill and I told him a few reasons why it may not be for him.  Based on his personality, I didn't think he would ever want to deal with an auger jam, running out of pellets, controller not working, flare up, etc.  I felt he would have got angry the first time something like that happened and wished he would have never bought one.  That became the beginning of my belief that pellet grills are not for everyone.

Agree 100%.    There are some people who have no mechanical aptitude, interest or time to troubleshoot when an issue arises.    I have a buddy of mine that unfortunately lives halfway across the country from me that bought a Traeger from Costco, used it a few times, but temperatures were all over the place, no where near set temp.    He put the cover on it and hasn’t uncovered it in probably close to 2 years.    I have told him to Call Traeger and have them help troubleshoot it or I would help him work through it.    He doesn’t know where to begin or care to even try.

Is that any different then running out of gas, or your piezoelectric starter breaks, or the gas jets are clogged?

If you knew the guy, yes, it is different.

Usually in any poll, the answer that is bold is what you picked.

Why wife isn't mechanical and she loves the Firecraft we have.
Never had a controller issue, flare up, auger jam. It's just the cleaning out of the ashes (and ran it out of pellets one time) that has been an issue.
Filling up with pellets is easier (and way cheaper) than changing a gas tank.

Maybe this will lead to more good deals on the secondary market.
